LEAD PLANTER & FAMILYGuinder & Noemí González
Join Guinder and Noemí’s newsletterGuinder and Noemí met while studying at seminary. There, the Lord gave them a shared desire to see churches planting churches and disciples making disciples—a conviction that now shapes their life and work in San Pedro La Laguna.
Guinder is Guatemalan and Noemí is Mexican. Together with their daughter Isabella and a baby on the way, they are putting down roots as Guinder leads the planting of Iglesia La Roca.
More about their family and ministry
They are convinced that Christ’s church is God’s “Plan A” for the world. They want to see efforts to serve their neighbors and bring lasting transformation flow through the life of a faithful local church: a people who proclaim the gospel, care for one another, and make disciples.
In the communities they serve, they have seen the need for churches firmly grounded in Scripture. Where prosperity teaching and an emphasis on earning God’s favor through works can obscure the gospel, faithful, verse-by-verse exposition of the Bible is deeply needed. That need has strengthened their desire to plant a church where God’s Word shapes both what is taught and how people live.
Guinder and Noemí served together in youth ministry leadership for two years. Guinder has also overseen deacons and home groups in a local church, coordinated visiting groups to help them understand life and ministry in Guatemala, and taught workshops on expository preaching.
Noemí offers counsel and builds relationships with women. Much of her daily ministry also takes place at home: nurturing their family and caring for the children God has entrusted to them. They see loving and discipling their children as a first responsibility in their life of service.
They enjoy playing tennis, spending time in nature, cooking, and sharing good coffee. One of their dreams is to open a café someday—a place to welcome people, enjoy conversation, and share life around the table.
